MP3 problems - no such interface supported

Hi all (and a happy new year :) ),

I've been having a problem recently with my 3100. When trying to play any mp3 files with media player I get a pop up message stating 'no such interface supported' and the MP3 doesn't play.

This also affects using mp3 files as ring tones or notifications. This used to work fine but now give me a message saying that the file is corrupt. All MP3 files play happily in mortplayer and TCMP.

Does anyone have any suggestions short of a complete hard reset and reinstall ?
