I was able to talk to my googletalk buddy directly from my smartphone -- how cool is that. The UI is very intuitive, and they also have a Home Screen plugin. By default they install their plugin, but they also have a option where you can add their plugin to your existing home screen. That way you don't have to give up your existing home screen to get OctroTalk notifications. Pretty cool software. Give it a go.
