Guest The Doctor Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 After a few people asked me for a guide to use their Vario II's as a modem in Mac OS X, and I admittedly didn't have a clue at the time, I got myself a bluetooth adapter and decided to have a go at getting it working :) Obviously, you must have bluetooth connectivity, if not, mobymemory do a very good 250m range v2 + EDR blueooth usb adapter for around £9. First up download the Windows Mobile GSM scripts from http://www.taniwha.org.uk/ Place the three scripts in the /Macintosh HD/Library/Mobile/ and the /Macintosh HD/Library/Modem Scripts/ folders. Then pair your Vario II up either via system preferences>bluetooth or by clicking the bluetooth icon in the status bar. Follow the instructions in the wizard. Then when it asks you for dialing information, enter the following: Telephone number: *99# Username: user Password: pass After pairing is complete, go to system preferences>network then select bluetooth and click configure. Then select PPP options and turn "send PPP echo packets" off. Now you can use the internet connect application to connect via your Vario II to the internet :D If your MoDaCo Plus I strongly recommend using the dedicated MoDaCo proxy, the default Tmob one has a nasty habit of compressing all the pictures and making them look like crap. Hope this helps a few people :D Phil
Guest Confucious Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 I'm sure this is very useful for people with MACs but is it so useful you needed to post it twice? :)
