Guest jarvisjulian Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 I have finally moved up in the world to a Pocket PC from previously using SPV E200,SPV C500 and a SPV C550. I was able to configure the proxy settings on all these to use the original O2 Genie contract with free unlimited WAP/Internet. I'm a bit confused in setting up the XDA mini S. Does any have the settings please
Guest jarvisjulian Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 Must be one of you out there that's managed to get the settings or can pass on a link! 11 readers so far !

Guest jarvisjulian Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 Search and ye shall find :) http://www.modaco.com/Phone_Settings_Repos...-t4861-s30.html Thank you for the link but after going through all 22 pages I found that none of the settings relate to the Windows Mobile 5 operating system. The setup on WM5 is different. It maybe that it's not possible to use the XDA mini S using WAP? My contract is the original Genie one (free unlimited WAP/600 texts/100 mins pm all fro £10) whereby the sim card isn't GPRS enabled . Got any other ideas or anyone else want to contribute ?

The dialup connection works for me, but not the proxy, but I am using a t-mobile SIM so I don't know if it will let me. Click start, settings, and select the Connections tab. Tap the Connections icon, then select the Advanced tab. Click Select Networks, then click New. Call this something like Genie, in the Modem tab, create a new entry using cellular line, and enter 07712927927, username geniewap, password password. In the Proxy settings tab, enter 193.113.200.195 and in advanced, set 9201 for http and wap. Might need to add the username and passwords in there too.

A bit slow as I've been using the WiFi in the meantime but that's expected. Thanks for taking the time to detail the settings. Hopefully I may be able to give you some advice in the future.
