Guest deanobhoy Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 (edited) Just wondered if the slide-out keyboard on the Vario II is illuminated in any way so you can have a stab in the dark? (no jokes please! :D ) I'm new to all this but give this a go, i actually had Vodafone send me out a new v1605 last week because my keyboard didn't illuminate, i sussed it out before the replacement arrived :) 'start' 'settings' 'buttons' , along the bottom select 'backlight' and tick the 'enable keyboard auto sensor' box. then go have a fumble in the dark :D Edit: if that box is already ticked there's a good chance you've not been in a dark enough room to illuminate the keyboard, unticking the box enables the backlight in all condions :D Edited January 3, 2007 by deanobhoy
Guest stevem999 Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 Cheers for that - it obviously is meant to light up so if it doesn't then I'll check those settings. On another matter, you've gone for a Hermes on vodafone - just wondered what sort of price you paid for it, and on what contract if you don't mind disclosing it. I'd like to stay at Voda but the lack of any sort of data tariff is a major turn-off. Are you getting hammered for data charges?

Firstly i requested my pac code hoping they would make me an offer, it worked! :D I'm still on the anytime 200 with 500 txts and i also get 6MB of data (12 mth contract) for £30.00pm and i got the Hermes for free :)
Guest jimbouk Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 if the backlight sensor is enabled, you can put your finger over the light sensor on top right corner of keyboard and then press a key to get it to light up (if its too light to trigger it automatically).
