Guest osiris8 Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 I've just connected a bluetooth keyboard to my HTC MTeoR and it works great! Quite a surprise, but then again - why wouldn't it... I've also connected a bluetooth mouse. The connection works fine but it doesn't do anything... Is there anyway of tricking the phone into displaying a mouse pointer?
Guest mini_man Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 Hmm, im sure its possible as if you look at Raspberrys True Connect then you will see it allows a mouse and keyboard to be connected via Active Sync. Sam
Guest osiris8 Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 TrueConnect is pretty cool! It won't handle a BT mouse connected directly to the phone though (checked with Raspberry support)... Someone should make an app that does that!

Guest cgigate Posted January 18, 2007 Report Posted January 18, 2007 (edited) I did, they just responded there is no support for it... :-/ Most smartphone does not support Bluetooth HID profile (human interface device) or not be enabled, it may need to hack the registry to enable it. OH, it pairs up just fine. The keyboard does exactly what it should, but there's really no corresponding actions for a mouse on a smartphone without touchscreen...
Guest dishe Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 If anyone recalls the old Toshiba PPC's, they were famous for having USB host capabilites. Loads of developers wrote all sorts of drivers for everything from USB keyboard support to network adaptors to Mass storage devices. Anyway, I recall someone wrote some drivers for a USB mouse. The mouse would be detected just fine, but due to the nature of PPC's, there was nothing to display/interact with. So, this particular developer went ahead and wrote some code to display a mouse pointer and have it interact. While I doubt this will magically make a bluetooth mouse work on a modern PPC/Smartphone, its a step in the right direction. If someone could find the sourcecode, perhaps you could figure out how to adapt it.
