Guest Cog Head Posted January 4, 2007 Report Posted January 4, 2007 hi, my first post here. im thinking of buying tomtom navigator 6 for my SPV M3100, but the problem is... the SPV uses a MicroSD card as its expandable memory, but the tomtom package comes with a MiniSD card. my question is, can i coppy the data from the MiniSD supplied to my 2Gb MicroSD? and will it work ? also anyone have any ideas on how i should go about transfering the data? manny thanks. :)
Guest MarkP Posted January 5, 2007 Report Posted January 5, 2007 In a word YES. I have just done exactly this with no problems. Copied the complete contents of the mini sd card from tom tom onto my pc, then put my micro sd card into its adapter and into my pc and and copied the entire lot onto my micro sd card. Then simply pop the micro card in to your m3100 and it will immediately start installing tom tom. 4mb goes onto your actual phone, all the rest stays on the card. If you are running out of space on the card as I was (I only have a 1gb card), then you can remove a lot of the languages for voices you don't want. Using the tom tom pc tool is the easiest way to do this. Hope this helps

Guest Tommy Squeaker Posted January 6, 2007 Report Posted January 6, 2007 sorry to hijack but I bought tomtom 6, copied the mini sd card to pc then copied to my 2gb micro card, then when I put my memory card back in my vario 2 nothing happens?????? anybody know where I'm going wrong? thanks
Guest MarkP Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 Difficult to know why it is not working... The installation does put about 4Mb on your phone itself, so make sure you have enough space on there. Also make sure you copy the files EXACTLY as they are on the Mini SD card. Do not put them in a separate directory. Otherwise I would perhaps try and connect to the PC using the USB cable and install using the option in TomTom home.
Guest itsdraney Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 if you want to avoid all problems then buy nav 6 in DVD format, load this to your pc then sync the phone and it does everything automatically - result ! :)
