Guest JPo_23 Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.... I'm expecting delivery of an m3100 tomorrow, but have only just found out about the combined USB/headphone port - I understand that I can't have the headset and the charger plugged in simultaneously. Typically I'd use my Wizard in the car with TomTom running, with both the charger and headset plugged in. I find using TomTom via speaker makes me miss instructions, particularly with music playing on my car stereo, and that running TomTom without the charger means I get where I'm going with less battery power left than I want. As I can't plug both in, what do you reccomend I do with the M3100?

Guest JPo_23 Posted January 7, 2007 Report Posted January 7, 2007 Ok, thanks, that looks like a possibility, although it looks as though it would be dangling below the phone in a rather annoying manner. I was thinking maybe a bluetooth headset might be a good idea, but I have no idea whether this will work with TomTom - ie can the phone be connected simultaneously to both the GPS receiver and the headset, and would the TomTom instructions come through on the headset?
Guest Wozbacca Posted January 8, 2007 Report Posted January 8, 2007 i have tomtom running on my m3100 while using a bluetooth headset. it all works fine, but the tomtom instructions dont come through the headset. i'd prefer it this way. the speaker on the m3100 is certainly loud enough for my tastes and i wouldnt want "in 300 yards, turn right" interupting my conversations on my headset.

Well that wouldn't happen anyway, as the instructions are usually muted during a phonecall. Is the speaker on the M3100 appreciably louder than that on a wizard?
Guest daedalia Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 There is free software available to route all audio through your bluetooth headset.
