Guest Graham 535i Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I have had a M3100 for a while now and it's been ok, until now when I send a text message it sends and a person will receive it but I will get no confirmation and then about 20 mins later they will receive the same sms again and I will get confirmation. This will happen up to 4 times. I'm about to kill Orange but would like to know if it's Orange or the phone? Thanks Graham
Guest jimbouk Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I have heard of this on various handsets on various networks. I think its something like the network not recognising that the receiving handset has got the message. I had it on new years eve - got the same few texts from the same person twice (a few hours apart). So I think its the network.

Do you have any application installed that actually closes Inbox instead of just minimising it? e.g. SPB Pocket Plus provides this functionality and there are a few other utils. The issue can occur if you close the Inbox (Text Messages) before it has finished dealing with the message transmission. So it resends. I had it all the time but if you provide an exception in your 'close' app it should be fine: poutlook.exe tmail.exe cprog.exe?

I used to have this problem on my M500 (which didnt have any software to close programs rather than minimise). I ended up always leaving the phone on until i was sure the message sent before "switching it off" again, which seemed to help but obviously i was never sure how often people got each message. Not had any complaints with my Vario II - and people used to moan about my M500 all the time so i assume no news is good news!
