Guest leedsrgaskell Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I’m interested in pushing email to my HTC Wizard but have been left a little disappointed by the lack of immediacy using some of the free web based solutions (yeah I could pay but I’m cheap!) I spied mention of an open source project called Funambol which purports to support all manner of devices, with lots of nice features that basically allow it to push/pull syncronise your device over the air. I’ve had a play around with installing the server and various connector parts but I’m a bit stumped & I was wondering if any fellow MoDaCo readers had experimented with/successfully setup a sync server using Funambol (or any other free utility!) as I don’t seem to be having much luck with community support for the project. -- Rich

Guest leedsrgaskell Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 have your tried emoze.. you can find it at emoze.com i use this with my exchange mailbox an my tmobile mda III it works a treat! Ah, I probably should have mentioned what I'm really trying to achieve! I'm hoping to sync my work email/calender/contacts/tasks locally with my device just for reference when I take the phone out of the office and also sync back my contacts/calendar/tasks to my desktop at home. Add to that I would like all my personal email accounts collected centrally and then pushed to my device as a seperate acount. As I understand it emoze would not allow me to segregate the work & personal email - basically I would have to set my office desktop to collect my personal mail & leave it on 24/7 just to get the messages (and they wouldn't be kept seperate) or sacrifice syncing my office email with my device. Running the Funambol Windows Mobile plugin creates a seperate email account but still allows multiple sync sources for the contacts/calendar/tasks. I know a representative from emoze visits the boards, I'll try and clarify that this is indeed the case -- Rich
