Thanks alot simon
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Which network do you want to be on? Do you want Smartphone or is PPC an option too? P
Guest simonbratt99 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 hi paul, Im on orange of course now, not bothered about network, my orange signals usually rubbish where i go, so maybe something else would be better? Smartphone are great PPC's are a bit to big really. My c600 is heavy enough really 110g, no heavier. To be honest i cant see a better phone out there, maybe i should just hang on longer till the summer? Is WiFi actually practical? is it actually useful? i think im looking for a new phone because i love gadgets and want something new, (having had this c600 for 18 months, its a life time) Im getting new phone withdrawal symptoms!!! Thanks for helping. simon
Guest Jamma14 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Well it depends if you are gonna use the wifi or not, I have a T-Mobile Dash (HTC Excalibur) and find it useful (and quite cool) but it isn't essential. If you want wifi I would say get the excalibur or wait for the o2 graphite, if not there are lots of other good options too, like the strtrk, lobstr and i320. I went for the Dash and I think it's awesome but depends what you're looking for. James
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Is GPS of interest to you as a feature? My missus uses the T-Mobile MDA Compact III which is small, light, has an FM radio and a GPS built in...flat rate data too on the right tariff. No WiFi, but do you really need it if you have flat rate? Depends on your usage of the device. It's only 127g in the hand, and does a shed load more than a C600... the downside (for some people) is you lose the number pad, but you gain the big touchscreen. It's the MoDaCo shop 'deal of the week' device at the moment (see here), but that's not why i'm mentioning it! The M700 will be out on Orange soon, but their data tariffs suck bad nowadays... aside from that there's not much confirmed atm! P
Guest simonbratt99 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 Gps would be great, if never owned any form of gps and keep meaning to. Wifi... hmm it sounds tempting but i have a PSP :-) thats got Wifi if i need to use it. FM Radio defo would be good, touch screen is fine by me. ill check that out. Thanks for comments so far.
Guest simonbratt99 Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 the compact III thing looks ok. 1. is it free to use the GPS or is it pay per use? ie is there download cost to use the GPS each time? 2. is there an acurate way of seeing if in postcode locations some provides give a petter coverage than others. Cos my orange signal in two of the main places in my life is one bar, and a lean out the window!!!! 3. Games.... i love!! Virtual pool on my c600, what are games like on other phones? any good? and how about the Compact III for games? Thanks greatly. Simon
Guest Paul (MVP) Posted January 10, 2007 Report Posted January 10, 2007 1. You need to buy GPS software to use with it, TomTom or similar (for navigation). This is a one of cost. 2. Only the T-Mobile coverage checker, which I have found very good - http://www.t-mobile.co.uk/Dispatcher?menui...ones_cua_uc_gis 3. Games on PPC are awesome :) Virtual Pool Mobile and Pocket Mini Golf are my faves! P
