Hello,

I'm looking for some help desperately before I get a savage beating from my wife.

I have an mda vario and it's sync'd with both my work and home pc's, I work in a 24hr dept on different shifts each week. As a result I have calender notifications set at random hours of the night. I use my vario as my alarm clock as well. I've checked on the Vario in Sounds & Notifications and the audio function for alarms also covers notifications as well and so from what I can tell for the alarm to work I have to have this turned on. The result is at random hours of the night my alarm goes off for my calender events too! I also get punched :)

I've gone through my calender on the pc and turned off all the audio reminders and sync'd it but this doesn't appear to be sufficent as this option is not available in the vario version of calender.

How can I continue to use my vario as my alarm clock but not get an audio notification of calender events?

Cheers

As a fellow shift worker who had similar problems getting elbowed and grunted at - I solved this problem by using SPB Time (www.spbsoftwarehouse.com) for my alarm clock. Even with the phone set on mute (so the notifications don't wake the nearest and dearest) the alarm clock still sounds. Another way to go about it could be to try PocketMax PhoneAlarm which allows you to set various profiles (Work, Silent, Flight etc) based on appointments in your calendar.
