SPB Today Suite

I haven't even recieved my MDA Compact III yet (should arrive tomorrow!) but I'm already looking out for some good software.

I'm completely new to the whole PPC area (coming from an SP5) so don't really have much knowledge on the software or what the whole Today Screen is about. I've saw what can be done with the SPB software and the layouts that can be made look great.

I understand there is a lot of freeware out there though that does a similiar thing though I'd imagine not as good. I don't mind forking out the £25 - £30 for the software but wondered if there are anyother suites that may be suited to a beginner???

Your advice is appreciated!

Well, first things first, what are you trying to achieve over and above the standard layout?

All I use nowadays is the Resco Explorer today plugin to see memory status and have some quick hit buttons for apps, and the Windows Live Messenger plugin (currently private Beta sadly).

I used to use a whole ton of stuff, but slimmed down for aesthetic and memory reasons :)

There are a few things I want but mainly things like weather forecast and obviously the time and date. I want it to look neat aswell as I've saw a few peoples screenshots and they just don't look right..... if that makes any sense! lol

Its like opening a word document up in notepad, the formatting of it just isn't right.

There is a guy who's posted a screenshot of his on one of the forums and that looks quite nice, I imagine you can change the background though (See image) Sorry if I'm not supposed to post other peeps screenshots but wasn't sure how to describe it.

I'm getting Copilot with it also so could do with adding an image to launch that at the bottom also if thats possible?

Is that the sunrise and sunset times in the second plugin on the above today screen?

If it is, I need that - where can I get it?

I don't know because its not my screenshot but from the forum I took it from I'm sure the guy said it was SPB Weather.

The weather application is SPB Weather, the tabbed application launcher is SBSH iLauncher (tried SPB's product and whilst it was very good I prefered iLauncher).
