Guest gladel Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 Hi. Is the Smartphone 2003 SE capable of surfing the internet via bluetooth (to an onlined PC)? Thanks in advance.
Guest mini_man Posted January 12, 2007 Report Posted January 12, 2007 If you have a bluetooth dongle and configure active sync to connect via bluetooth too your phone then with a pass through connection you can use the internet on your phone! Sam

Sam Really? If you don't mind me asking, have you experienced it?
Guest mini_man Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Yep I used to use it ALL the time! First with my C550 then C600 and then my C500 and then my Ipaq HX2110 which was a beauty with a big screen :) then I stopped as I got my wifi SDIO card. I dont use it any more as my current device has wifi so there is no need unless I randomly need to sync? But yes I have to say it works fantasticly although its limited too a 10m range whatever dongle you own (I have a 100m and sadly it doesnt extend that far :D ) Using it round the house is great if your bluetooth dongle is in a place which the phone can reach round the house and your house doesnt have too many thick walls etc. Sam
Guest mini_man Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 Yep although I dont use it anymore. Range is limited to ten metres, even if you have an extended metre dongle! I used it with my C500, C550, C600 and Ipaq HX2110. It worked well round the house although you need to have the dongle positioned in a good place. If you have any other questions then dont hesitate to ask Sam
Guest gladel Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I'll try it right away after I get my own Smartphone. :)

Guest mini_man Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Gr8 glad it works, how are you finding the range. (this is for anyone else) 1) Unpair your phone with bluesoleil (on phone and pc) 2) Open active sync on the phone and tell it too sync via bluetooth until it comes up with something about finding a partership or pairing or something, follow the menus to the add a device screen and make your phone pair with the bluesoleil. 3) When your phone and pc are paired via active sync then select connect via bluetooth in the phones menu and on the screen watch something popup about your phone conecting to the pc and note down the com port number its connecting too. (its usually 6 or 7 I think?) 4) Nothing should happen unless your active sync settings are the same but right click on the active sync icon in the system tray and select connection settings and under bluetooth com port or something select the number that the phone was connecting too. 5) Once this is setup then hit connect via bluetooth and the active sync symbol should spin happily Sam
Guest gladel Posted January 23, 2007 Report Posted January 23, 2007 Gr8 glad it works, how are you finding the range. Range? No idea. I always work near my laptop. I just wanted to sync and transfer files wirelessly to avoid cluttering my desk with cables. :) Thanks for the guide.
