Guest dishe Posted January 14, 2007 Report Posted January 14, 2007 I have an sp5m with the A2DP hack installed and I love it so far. I've been using it with Logitech wireless headphones for ipod, and the sound is outstanding (better than wired headphones, IMO). The only problem is that I can't answer calls because the headphones have no mic. So, I decided to get one of those Itech R35 headsets because 1) it has a mic and can answer calls and 2) I can use my own quality headphones or attach it to my home/car stereo system. However, much to my surprise, the R35 has this TERRIBLE ringing noise at certain frequencies... Simple sounds such as voice and single instruments are fine, but once the music gets complicated, there's this annoying distortion and hissing/ringing. I would say its just the headset, however when paired with an A2DP compatible computer, it sounds AMAZING! Its only when paired to the Tornado that I have this problem. That being the case, I would have though the Tornado hack didn't work so well, however as I said before the Logitech headphones sound great, no hiss or ringing distortion. So, what could be the problem here? Does this make any sense? I did some searching online and I found some people saying that there are some registry tweaks that may help the R35 sound better, however the registry items that they describe seem to be very different from my device's registry (there were some values to change in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Bluetooth\A2DP\Settings\BitPool, but I don't even have the \settings\ section in my registry at all! Am I missing some vital parts to my registry?).
Guest neil81 Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 I have noticed the same thing. I gather from what I have read that this is a problem with the Microsoft bluetooth stack and as yet no amount of tweaking the registry will fully cure it :-( Hopefully future firmware updates may solve the problem. Some people seem to have had success using MSI's blueplayer software for WM5 as it bypasses the MS bluetooth stack however, the software installation seems to cause people numerous problems. I'm glad to hear you managed to get the R35 working with a PC. I'm still struggling with a bluetooth v2 belkin dongle and v4.1.something widdcomm drivers. I seem to be able to pair the R35 but I can't stream music too it. Neil
Guest mini_man Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Really Id say that you can improve it? You just need the right tweaks This CAB did wonders for me A2DPFix.CAB And try these reg tweaks HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Drivers\Buildin\BtA2dpSnd Add "Priority256" entry, Dword: 60 HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/AudioGateway/Capability Dword change to 69 (Default: 37) HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/BitPool Dword change to 51 (Default: 38) HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Bluetooth/A2DP/Settings/ Add "SampleRate" entry, Dword: 48000 Then restart the device after these tweaks and repair with your headset. Im Hoping it will improve significantly. Sam

Does anyone know if/where I can get the i.Tech Clip in the US? Thanks...
