using t9 with sms

Anyone know of a way to use the t9 dialpad while smsing...

What I want is to have a dialpad t9 as a method of input, so that I can choose between keyboard, transcriber, block recon, and T9...anyone know of a way to do this?

You should have Phone Pad option in your input options.

When you start to type out a message, you should see a little keyboard icon (or whatever input option you have enabled), simply tap that to open it, and tap the little down arrow next to it to change it to something else.

Unfortunately I don't...I went to xda, and found phonepad and downloaded it, but I still can't use phonepad...its an option, but it won't switch to it...the search goes on....
