Guest bilclintonsdaman Posted January 15, 2007 Report Posted January 15, 2007 I just got a 2gb microSD for my Cingular 8525, and need to know if there's a way to download files off the net directly to the card, because the files (songs off archive.org) are too large to fit in the storage memory (>20mb). Can anyone help me out?
Guest bilclintonsdaman Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 anyone? no one else has this problem?
Guest richard_d Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 anyone? no one else has this problem? Easiest way is to do it on a PC with a card reader. Alternatively the free software thread has a fix to allow PIE to use the storage card for temporary files which might work.
Guest mandt Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 It's pretty simple, tap on the file you want in the Download box that opens select 'save as... and select storage card from the location drop down box
Guest bilclintonsdaman Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 lol well i knew that, the problem was partway through the download i'd get a 'storage is getting full' message, leading me to believe that it was downloading the file to the main memory and then transfering it to the memory card. but i got opera and it doesn't seem to have this problem; i downloaded a full 22.1mb file today with no problems.
Guest bilclintonsdaman Posted January 16, 2007 Report Posted January 16, 2007 although i didn't try the PIE temp files tweak, that sounds like it'd work. thanks all :)
