How can I embed a locally stored image into a post ?

Simple really, (lke me).......but how can I embed a screenshot taken from my PPC and stored locally on my laptop, into a post in this forum.

Much searching done and no obviously helpful explanations.

How about a complete "Modaco posting, How to guide"...........?

(and thats after 100+ post !!!!! doh)

Add it as an attachment to a post, then select 'add into post'?

I've manged that - but was kind of hoping the image could be instantly visible, as opposed to a link to the file.

I probably didn't explain it too well when I used "embedded"

I've seen many post here using the technique. I'm sure you know what I mean

attach an image in the same way you normally would

put the cursor where you want the image to appear

click add into post

PS it doesnt seem to work with bmp images, maybe this is where you're going wrong?

lol wow i never knew about this and ive been here on modaco for a while now. ive always done it the hard way by uploading to imageshack (much better than photobucket haha)
