Emails do not delete from exchange

I am working with a client who has a UTstarcom 6700 that sync's directly with the exchange server.

Everything is working fine (direct push) and all contacts, calendar and tasks are working as should be expected.

The only issue is when he deleted an email from pocket outlook, it does not move that email to the deleted items on the exchange server.

I've tested his account with the same settings on my t-mobile mda and it does move the email as expected.

We've called Verizon and they made us do a hard reset on the phone. When that didn't work they transferred us to Starcom who was of no assistance at all (and mighty rude I should add).

He is running the newest FW version on the phone (2.07.20wwe).

I believe there is something in Verizon's extended rom features that might be doing this but I cannot tell.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior or offer any insight into what might be causing it.
