xpdf pdf viewer

anyone had experience with pocket xpdf viewer? when i get a email with a pdf attachment, i save it to my sd card, then with resco viewer of the built in file explorer, i go to the location i saved the pdf. i tap on it and select pocket xpdf as the application to open it. xpdf starts, then nothing displays.

if i open xpdf first, then do a file/open and go to the file and select it, the pdf displays just fine. how can i get it to open in xpdf by tapping on the pdf from explorer?
