Dynamic Ip Address

Not sure if this is the right forum but hey.

Anyway I use my M3100 as a modem and also have an old SPV550 which I can use as a modem. Now what I want to do is this. Have phone connected to the internet and access the PC/Laptop that the phone is connected to. Now I have tried using DynDNS updater to access the machine through a dynamic IP service however the update program tells me the IP address is not public and doesnt upload it to the dyndns servers. Anyone got any ideas to solve the issue. The application is a remote deployed CCTV system where only Mobile telecoms is the only option for connectivity and we wish to access log files and change parameter remotly without having to pay for fixed IP sims.

I have tried in the past to do something like this but it cannot work unfortunately.

I am assuming that you are on Orange - but I guess this applies to other carriers as well.

Your IP address on the phone is almost certainly 10.x.x.x - that is a private network address - not valid on the internet. Your phone will be behind a firewall at Orange HQ that is doing Network Address Translation (NAT) for your outgoing connections.

Unfortunately this means that you cannot initiate INBOUND connections from outside the firewall to your phone - because it has no valid IP address on the internet.

SOrry - non starter here I am afraid!
