Guest Alex (nedge2k) Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 [teaser] 4th and final post about the HTC Athena today, I promise! :D The Dopod U1000 is sure to make the iPod generation sit up and take notice with it's white paint job (yeh, it looks silver but apparently it's white! :) ). Something's missing though. Oh, that's right, the MoDaCo logo on the back :D Again, I won't bore you with the specs but just incase they aren't burnt into your memory, you can get the full rundown HERE. Dopod listed configuration is expected in February 2007, the proposed price of 39,900 yuan. BTW: 40,000 yuan is around £2500! :D[/teaser] [Source]
Guest The Doctor Posted January 24, 2007 Report Posted January 24, 2007 4th and final post about the HTC Athena today, I promise! :D Some could even call it overkill :D:lol::D £2500 tho.. :) bit steep IMHO Phil
Guest saintone1 Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 Think you may find that the 39,900 is actually Taiwanese dollars. So the price should be around US$1,200, GBP615 and EUR930.

Guest mikeeey Posted January 26, 2007 Report Posted January 26, 2007 THAT sounds more reasonable :) Phil too big...it has lost the name "pocket" pc. soon its gonna have its own catigory of really large devices. rather than increasing in size they should increase in features and operating systems. cant u just see urself using a pocket pc with WinXP or Vista on it? i sure can. i wonder how long thatl be till that happens.
Guest Monolithix (MVP) Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 There is a category for such devices, Ultra Mobile PC's, such as the OQO Model 02 (£700-£900). Using sizeasy its not that much different in proportions, http://www.sizeasy.com/page/comp/291, or cost. The athena however, is not a UMPC, it runs WM PPC Phone Edition, and is therefore a pocket pc (or even a "smartphone").
Guest The Doctor Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 too big...it has lost the name "pocket" pc. soon its gonna have its own catigory of really large devices. Bah they should put a carrying handle on it :) Phil
Guest mikeeey Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Bah they should put a carrying handle on it :) Phil lol yep. its pretty stupid tho to put windows mobile on such a big screen. when the screen is that big it should just have windows xp
