Guest TiNNiT Posted January 25, 2007 Report Posted January 25, 2007 (edited) Hi, The moment I connect my phone (SPV C600) via USB and Active Sync starts, the WiFi connection on my PC dies immediatly. I have to unplug my phone and restart my computer to get WiFi connected again. Does anyone else experience the same problem or knows how this can be solved? Thx in advance! You do not say what version of ActiveSync you are using on your PC. Newer versions 4.1 and 4.5 have a check box on one of the pages when you create a new partnership with a PDA. If you have one of these versions, you can check this setting by: Open ActiveSync Window > File > Connections Settings > The last radio check box on this page gives you the option to "Allow wireless connection on device when connected to the desktop." Check this and your wifi will stay alive while you are connected via Bluetooth or USB, uncheck it and ActiveSync will disable wireless when connected.

Will check the settings you described tonight. Thx already! "Allow wireless connection on device......" With device is meant the phone or the PC? PS. What is the reason to have this option? This switch does not affect your PC's connection to a wireless hub (if you have one) it means your PDA's wireless connection. I do not know why M$ have programmed Activesync in this way. I would speculate that it is connected to their new security obsession and the removal of capability to Sync over Wifi that existed in pre WM5 versions Activesync. In this instance, at least, the user is given a choice to switch this feature on or off.
Guest gladel Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 I solved this kind of problem by synching via bluetooth instead of USB cable. This method is also an effective solution for those having trouble using the SPV-Services program.
