How To Preserve Stuff After Hard Boot

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I'm going to need to do a hard boot of my HTC Trinity. I want to go back to the way I had customized it as quickly as possible, so I have a few questions:

1) How can I make sure that Windows recognizes my phone under its original profile name (Cracklehorn)? Or will I have to rename it "CrackleHorn 2"?

2) How can I preserve my text messages, that I know usually aren't synced with the computer?

3) How do I keep my Call History, which is also not synced? Does it have a "filename"?

Just so you know my phone works fine and I have access to the files through ActiveSync, but I've had another problem that made it necessary to hard boot.

Please get back to me ASAP, I'll need to do that hard boot over the weekend.

Thanks,

WASSIM

I'd suggest something like SPB Backup, but you really want to back up a clean working device. You could try and selectively restore though...

Don't think that'll work. I've taken the virtual tour and it doesn't say anything about saving call history or texts. I don't need all that, I just need to identify the one file or folder that stores that information, and copy that file/folder. Once the hard boot is done I can just copy it back into the device and that should work, theoretically. No?

Delete the old partnership. Then after the hard reset rename the device to the old name. I would also backup the outlook data (just in case). Sadly I'm no help on the text or the call history.

Texts can be sync'd with Outlook using Jeyo Mobile Extender.

One of the beauties of the AKU3.3 roms is that users will be able to copy sms's to the sim card.

Thanks for the help, guys.

How do I know which AKU version I have?
