Guest bingobob Posted January 27, 2007 Report Posted January 27, 2007 I'm off to France this evening for the mountains! I don't want to get stung for ANY data usage while I'm out there, I plan to use the phone to SMS my friends at the airport and that's it. How can I ensure none of my email messaging apps or RSS news readers go and try to fire up a internet connection and run up charges....I just want to use WIFI where possible and TomTom for the trip to the resort. But like I say I might want to send / receive the odd SMS.

Guest Christopher Woods Posted March 23, 2007 Report Posted March 23, 2007 Ta for the link, I was delving around for this as I'm going to France too soon - don't forget if anybody is going abroad and plans on using their phone on T-Mobile, if you send MMSes they're half the price of SMSes for some bizarre reason - 20p/message instead of 40p/text, and of course you can get LOADS more text in an MMS than you can an SMS - you have the EU to thank for that!
