Tornado(Qtek 8310) - Usb Driver

Does tornado need any driver for the USB ?

When i plugin the USB cable the phone starts to charge but windows doesn't recognize it:

do i need any drivers/software for that (i have activesync)

Welcome to the forum :)

You don't need any additional drivers or software other than ActiveSync. I would check that your firewall isn't blocking the connection. Do you have the latest build of AS, ie 4.2 installed ?

hmm, try some different sockets, I get that problem sometimes its really annoying!

Or a different usb cable.

i don't think it's becouse of the firewall becouse USB isn't under the firewall restrictions only the COM communication i mean sync, it simply can't find the drivers i tryed it on Vista and XP SP2 and i have active sync 4.5 ! and tryed 4.2 nothing helps

maybe the USB cable i use the one from my sony camera is that the same ? , the charging works and it recognizes the device but the driver doesn't work, becouse i bought the device used i don't have the original cable is it special or normal ?
