Guest rossy Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Hi I have just got a new laptop, and have done a fresh install of office (2003) and Activesync (4.2), which is the exact same setup I had on my old laptop. However, when I sync my phone everything syncs except for contacts which stay on the phone but do not appear on the pc in Outlook. There is no error message. Please can someone help, this is really starting to frustrate me! Thanks Rossy
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Sorry if this is too obvious but open AS on the phone and confirm that Contacts is checked in the Options list.
Guest jimbouk Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 I assume you have set activesync to sync contacts with the pc?
Guest rossy Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 You assume correct! I have just checked again and the contacts box is not checked in the phone options in AS on the phone (M3100), but it is greyed out (so cant check). I did select to sync contacts when setting up the partnership in activesync on the pc.
Guest jimbouk Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Are you syncing with a server as well as the pc? Either way, I would delete the partnership and set it up as a new one.

Guest Spunkyboy Posted April 17, 2007 Report Posted April 17, 2007 I have tried this, but still get exactly the same result. Any other ideas? I've had loads of trouble with this in the past. I have found that some (not all) of the issue of sync-ing with Activesync had been caused by my anti-virus firewall, Bitdefender. My suspicions were aroused as I'd read here of another user who had had a similar problem. On this information, I uninstalled Bitdefender completely (temporarily) and Activesync worked better afterwards (although I did also 'Delete Mobile Device' and restart the connection). Just thought it might be worth considering - even if you don't use BitDefender there might be similar issues with other similar software.
