Guest stormy Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 Hi, I have a strange problem with my C600. My MP3 ringtones have just stopped working for no apparent reason. All the wav and default tones are working and Pocket Player can still play them fine. Any ideas what has happened? Thanks, Mike
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 28, 2007 Report Posted January 28, 2007 There is a clue in that you've installed Pocket Player. You need to have MP3 files associated to Windows Media Player for the ringtones to work. Use your File Manager to do this.

You need to have MP3 files associated to Windows Media Player for the ringtones to work. Use your File Manager to do this. I got the same problem... but I think my situation is a kind of more messy. I had some mp3 ringtones and they worked properly. Then I installed some software (Pocket Music among the other) and it stops playing the mp3 ringtones. If I try to play them explictly with wmp I got an error. Note however that with wmp I can still play plenty of others mp3s. I tried to play the ringtones with tcpmp and it works! So it seems like wmp have problems with only the mp3 ringtones but not with regular mp3 (it makes no sense!) [i associated again mp3 to wmp with the file manager but I still have the same problem... any ideas?
Guest DSF Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 with smartexplorer (if you don't have it, google it).: file > open > manage file types... chose .mp3 from the list menu > edit file type.. command to execute: wmplayer.exe "%1" note the quotes (""), they are important. without those will not work @disco stu i am still waiting an answer to that pm..
