Using the bluetooth software, find out which COM Port the PC has assigned to the "serial Bluetooth Port" then set you active sync to allow communication between that port.

What version of active sync is that as i think you have a newer version as i don't have those options showed in your screenshots.

Hi again.

These are some screenshots from the bluetooth program. Now there are 2 ports in 2 different tabs and both run on different COMs. Any ideas?

Thanks

Its 4.2 for a C600.

At a guess and not being able to play around with the software me self id say COM 7. Purely because thats the prot that is going to service for other bluetooth devices. COM 6 provides services for your machine to access other devices.

As for accessing the connection settings, try either file>conection settings or tools>options> connection settings.

I never syncd my 550 or below over bluetooth so im not to sure where in AS the seting area is. Perhaps someonme could elaborate on this????

Cheers,

M

When you first pair the device with your pc, you need to assign BT com ports. You then use these for syncing.

I would unpair the device from your pc and then follow the simple three point Activesync bluetooth help procedure in AS help.

ok thanks. So you think i should uninstall it via device manager then connect it again and use AS help to find out how i should assign a com port?

Try re-establishing you AS partnership by delteing it from AS and then re-installing it via USB...it should, at the same time, look for other COM ports as well

Other than that, Im stumped....when i did it with mine all the com ports that where required appeared.

Id need to play around with it to get it right etc....

TRY THIS....

Sorry i cant be of any more help.

Just delete the existing partnership in AS, unpair the device, remove any existing BT com ports in your BT settings. Then follow the AS help topic.
