Guest bsketball Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 OK, here is my problem. I bought a T-Mobile Dash yesterday, and I'm getting it all set up and everything. However, there is something that doesn't look right. The directory for the smart phone looks different than what there's supposed to be. For example, in the instructions for installing a .CAB file onto the phone, it says, "Copy the file to \Storage\Windows\Start Menu\Accessories on your device." The problem is, there is no file of \storage\windows\Start Menu. In the directory, this is all there is: I wanted to know why the directory is different. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Make sure you make hidden files and folders visable in my computer/ win explorer tools-->folder options-->viewshow hidden files and folders you should see the windows directory there and the start menu is in there. hth gr
Guest Disco Stu Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Technically the Dash is a Pocket PC rather than a Smartphone. The \Storage directory was scrapped in WM05 although you'll notice a similar structure otherwise.
Guest bsketball Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 Alright, I'll do that. Thank you!
Guest chucky.egg Posted January 29, 2007 Report Posted January 29, 2007 That folder is used purely to make it easier to find and run the CAB file that you copy to your device - you can put the CAB file anywhere you want, just make sure you can find it again to run it!
