Guest PHOBiA Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 Looking to get so me GPS software. I tried installing a friends GPS blue tooth unit but it didn't come with software that was compatible with Wm5 (smartphone). I ended up installing GPSTuner for Wm5 but this also doesn't work. Can someone recommend me good software that works for the SP5 and a GPS unit that will work with the SP5 ? Thanks guys!
Guest sebflipper Posted January 31, 2007 Report Posted January 31, 2007 TomTom 5 Mobile is pretty good, although the latest version TomTom 6 Mobile doesn't work on the SP5 not sure why. I hear that Route 66 is pretty good as well, but I never seen it in action.

Works like a charm. I tired GPSdash2 v2.58 .. but it keeps telling me that this version will not install on my device. I've installed all sorts of other games etc.. so not sure why it keeps failing.

Guest chucky.egg Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I hear that Route 66 is pretty good as well, but I never seen it in action I use Route66 myself and like it. Some things are harder to do with R66 than with TomTom (such as finding a place around a destination), but on the whole I find it very stable, pretty fast, and above all CHEAP
Guest Griff_FFOC Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I've just recently bought Route 66 for my C600, and once my Bluetooth GPS receiver arrives I will offer some more constructive comments. So far it seems to run fine, although it does say you need a Card Reader to install, but I suspect the fles could just be copied using the Explore in ActiveSync. Running it without the receiver, It did crash a couple of times when I went to add in my 'work' address. But after updating the software with the latest version from their site, it hasn't done it. One thing to note is, if you go the Route 66 path, install it from the media, then download the update and install that BEFORE activating it. The update requires Route 66 to be-reactivated, something you can't do within a week of first activating it. I met this problem and fortunately an e-mail to Route 66 got my previous activation cancelled.
