T-Mobile Web n Walk Settings?

I'm trying to fully configure T-Mobile GRPS for web n walk but can only get WAP settings to work, not full on GPRS Internet. This is probably why I can't connect to msn messenger or agile messenger?

Has anyone got the correct settings for TMob for use on a windows smart phone?

Well unless you are on a wnw pro tariff, its a no can do for any form of messaging application use, but in theory if you have the correct settings things should work

I know 'theoretically' its a no-go for IM, but I just was wondering why it wouldn't connect, I know some settings are bodged somewhere! Im in UK btw.

What is the difference between gprs 'internet' and gprs wap? I'll try those settings but Im not sure they'll work.

If you are in the UK goto the t mobile website, the setings there are for gprs, wap is the older version of mobile internet, where instead of it beign through a dedicated line it goes like a phone call. A comparison would be that WAP is like a 56k modem (in the sense of how it works, not the speed) and GPRS is ISDN(again not speed wise) You don't realy need to know this, just go to the t mobile website and follow the instructions and you'll be fine. Messenger Live for Mobile works fine on my mobile(mda vario) and i'm on the standard wnw package, as well as being able to stream media through realplayer

I know the thread's old, but just adding my 2p worth - Been a TM & WnW customer (£7.50 a month basic package) since September last year. Never had a problem connecting to MSN through either the GPRS or 3G, in fact everything works all the time - even used the wireless modem facility via bluetooth, irda AND USB on my laptop, and it all works perfectly.

As already confirmed, your tarif settings will not affect your ability to connect to IM services.

Setting up GPRS/3G on smartphones and pocket pcs is one of the easiest to do, since all you have to do is go through the add a new connection wizard. Select 'GPRS/3g', user name: 'user' and password 'tmob'. When it asks for an access point name just enter 'general.t-mobile.uk'. You should be up and running from that point on. If this isn't the case then you either have a hardware fault or your account has some kind of glitch (this was the case with one of my new accounts around the start of last yearL I had to leave it with T-Mobile overnight for them to sort it out.
