Previously available in 'Beta 3' guise, the full release of Windows Mobile Device Center is now available!

Performing the functionality for Windows Vista that ActiveSync carried out for Windows XP, WMDC allows you to sync your outlook content to your device, explore the device, sync pictures and videos etc. from a slick vista-ized user interface.

In short, if you plan to use Windows Vista with a Windows Mobile device... you need this :)w

The download for 32 bit versions of Vista can be found here, while the x64 version can be found here.

Enjoy!

I know that it is a long shot but has anyone tried to install this on Windows XP?

Thanks for the Info, I've downloaded the beta 3 yesterday and it did not install on my german Vista Ultimate. But now it seems that the final is also available in german! That's great

Thanks for the head up! Going to install it on my machine someday.

Still have Vista as 2nd boot until all drivers for my hardware are all sorted out. Then I will switch.

I installed this the other day and I've noticed that I can't sync music (or other media) between my PC and the memory card in my Orange M3100. After some googling, I found several posts that describe how to fix this for WMP11 (ie, delete all MSMETADATA, DRM and MUSIC folders and any occurances of WMPInfo.xml). I followed these instructions to the letter, several times, with no luck. I now suspect that this is not directly related to WMP11, but WMDC on Vista.

Has anyone else noticed the same thing? I don't think this is related to Onecare as I can sync data and browse the device quite happily (including the "storage card").

Thanks!

<_<

Saw others were having similiar issues here...

Just upgraded to Vista, and I am amazed at how all my apps and devices have actually picked right up with the new OS and got to work!

However, my Samsung i730 (Phone/Pocket PC) no longer sync’s to the storage card?! I previously used XP Home, Active Sync 4.5, and the sync method offered through Media Player 11.

Works great due to being able to sync playlists, music, etc. from Media Player to either internal mem, or storage card.

When getting started with the new Mobile Device Center, my storage card no longer shows up in the devices with Media Player, and I of course can no longer sync to the card.

Anyone else come accross this, or know of any work around?

I can access the card through explorer, and could always just copy straight to it, but losing the sync feature in Media Player is a big step down for moving to a new and improved app...

You need to disable the advanced usb features I believe from the phone configuration.

Worked for me and others it seems.
