Guest rossinio Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Ok, so it charges if i plug in car charger (tried 2 of them now) but if i pull out charger and plug in again the screen goes bright (as if its charging) then quickly goes back to as if its not plugged in.. Also when it is charging the orange light is blinking, not solid like it is when normally charging.. SO wierd & this is even after a hard reset. I dont want to send it back (this is number 4, bloody awful tmobile/htc quality control) so any suggestions would be great. The phone charges fine from a usb port and from the mains, its just in car that it goes a bit wierd.. My other hermes' had no problem with this
Guest sparkymodaco Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 I had a similar problem with an imate sp3 and my Vario II. I found that if the battery was quite low it would not charge in the car but it would on usb or mains charger. Both would charge in the car if battery power was above 50%. This was tried with a few different chargers.
Guest rossinio Posted February 10, 2007 Report Posted February 10, 2007 Ill give it a shot, is bizarre how last time i tried i charged it fine below 50% (quite low in fact). When i pulled out charger and plugged back in again the same wierd thing happened where the screen went bright then back to normal after 1/2 a second (with no charging). This is really frustrating! Can anyone else confirm their device doesnt do the same thing?
Guest T39andcounting Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 I get the same problem on my orange M3100. charger light goes on when I first plug it in, then if it gets unplugged, or I start the car (so it looses power for a second) it stops charging. very frustraiting, especially as the 'proper' car charger I ordered from mobilefun was DOA. I did see something on an ebay add that suggested that a standard usb cable is wired to trickle charge, and a true charger has a different wiring to allow it to fast charge, so maybe there's an issue there? or perhaps that was just an ebay add talking sh#t like they often do! any suggestions of a car charger (usb or otherwise) that works would be great... although usb would be better because then it can be as long as I want, and is not that annoying curly wire like the car chargers always have!
