Aren't kingston memory cards MLC? Meaning they have issues transfering large files etc when in a WM device?

Most other cards (Sandisk etc) are SLC..

Hmmm, don't know... :)

Seem to remember a story about Kingston MLC cards not being able to transfer files over around 18mb via active sync and the card would either:

1. Refuse to let you copy said file

2. Refuse to let you copy said file and corrupt itself :D

I used to have a Kingston MicroSD in an old Motorola and I tranfered large (ish) video files etc over to it well over 18mb without problem. I think the biggest I transferred was about 60mb.

Likewise. Sold! Why not. Can always use more storage. Means I can bring a film home from work as well.

They have jolly cheap skype headsets and webcams as well it seems.

buying a cheap memory card might not be so bad, but i would defo recommend AGAINST buying a cheap webcam - that would be akin to buying unbranded bog-roll! you just don't do it!!

Or buying a stereo system branded by a company you've never heard of before :)

I'll second that, bought a webcam for £3 a few months back. Never got it to work properly - driver issues all over the shop, it's a noname and no hope of getting vista support (laugh!) so really was a waste of cash. Anyway, back to the thread.....

I know there were problems with the E200 and MLC Kingston SD cards but I've not heard of any problems since.

Is this just because I've not been looking?

I've always just bought cheapo cards f eBay (well, £99 for 4Gb was cheap at the time!), My 1Gb MiniSD in my C600 is a sandisk and the 1Gb Mini SD they have in stock (£7.79) is a Tosh so I might buy one for my daughter's C550

a) I needed a headset - I don't have a mic; but I do need to use it on a computer wherever I am, so it needs to be portable

b ) I needed a webcam

c) I get 30 mins free skypeout time

d) It's all Skype-branded stuff

e) It was 15 quid all in

f) I'm fairly skint and happy to risk it for basically a fiver - no harm done. It's more for purposes of investigation.

Edit: I was a bit worried about these guys, but hopefully it will be ok. They sent me an email telling me my order was held, and I had to call them. They cross ref'd my stuff and the CC # was totally wrong... I gave them the deets over the phone because I was feeling lazy but I kinda wish I hadn't now. Checked it all out and seems ok, but also seems odd that they would email me with no order ref number and an incorrect cc #.

I got a Sandisk 2GB Micro SD card, SD adapter *and* USB trans-flash reader/adapter for £21 on eBay (from the USA). It's worth keeping your eye on a few and bidding during the last 10 seconds when the price is right.... I got mine after a Canadian dealer refused to sell me a Micro SD alone for £28 - gutted... ha ha :)

Still waiting for mine to arrive. Anyone got theirs yet? Just been back to check my order (despatched!) and noticed what appears to be a price drop.. it's now just £7.89 (inc del).

Mine arrived today.

Took around 4 - 5 days after order status changed to despatched.

Working fine in the Lobster.

No -they sent me ANOTHER email telling me my transaction had failed and that I had to ring them up again!

I haven't bothered to check the order status or my card yet, which I will probably do tomorrow. Crap, though, nonetheless.

It's like they don't want our money!
