Guest RonV42 Posted February 3, 2007 Report Posted February 3, 2007 Ok it was my understanding that the Xpress mail client was push capable as long as the servicing message system supported the push system. Yahoo is supposed to be one of those email systems that support the push feature and the latest client event has Yahoo built right in where it doesn't ask for the SMTP or POP3 server names. When I set up Yahoo via the XM Setup program it checks the push message option by default. But when I look at the event viewer the push client always logs "Push Client Event" Connection attempted failed. Then it directly connects and downloads the messages from Yahoo. It repeats this process over and over every 5 to 15 minutes which wastes battery. I had to uncheck the push message option and manually check for email via the send/receive option in the message client. Is there anyone out there that knows what is going on? Is Yahoo truly push via the Xpress Mail client? I spent 2 hours on the phone with Cingular yesterday and they could not explain what the error in the log ment and never could answer if Yahoo is truely push enabled. Thanks
