Applications will not stay open/run on Qtek 8500 wih 3125 ROM

I'm just geting into WM phone game and recently purchased a used Qtek 8500 flashed with Cingular 3125 ROM. I really like this phone (crossig over from Treo) except... when launching applications they will run for only few seconds before I get kicked back to the home screen. I have searched high and low but can't find the answer.

Any ideas?

I have the same problem using a HTC S620 and it happend after using Smartweak.

Go to Settings, Home Screen and set Time Out to Never,
