I've heard rumours that the i-mate sp5 won't handle a 4g mini sd.

True/false..

If false recommend me a good place to buy online?

I recently bought one of those cards to use in my C600. I did actually update the ROM a few months back to an imate one to get rid of the Orange junk. Having said that the mobymemory site says it should still be compatible anyway.

My problem (which I posted about in the Help & Advice forum) is that it just doesn't work in my phone. Seems to work when I only have a few files on it, but as soon as I copy over the contents of my old 2GB card, it just stops functioning, locking up the phone. I managed to use WM5Storage and partition it to 2x2GB partitions but this made no difference. Now I can't even change it back to one partition as the phone won't work long enough to do so. I have no other method of changing it back. I formatted both partitions in my PPC but it still locks up the phone even with no files on it.

The only other thing I can think of is a hard-reset and trying again, but not sure it's worth the effort as I can't see it solving anything.

In another thread someone said they had one of these cards working in a C550. I can't see why it would work in an earlier model and not in a later one.

Guess I'll have to get a refund and keep using the 2GB card. Given your comments it seems it isn't even worth keeping to use when I upgrade my phone (assuming future Smartphones will handle a 4GB card).

Jason.

sorry to hear you had a bad time with it, the card I got is able to be read and written to by the phone right up to its capacity only trouble is it really becomes slow song sound like gareth gates stuttering all the the times and when alarms sound instead of a 3 second gap between repitions there is a 10 to 15 second gap and any button presses to dissmiss or snooze the alarm take equally as long to register,

I too went back to a 2 gb card I only recomend MobyMemory due to there good customer service I have recieved and that they are competitivly priced, my recomendation is to avoid the 4gb card till the read speed by the phone is better
