Guest robs23 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 Hi. I heard that there is a possibility to run wikipedia database directly from your sd card (but only on PPC:/). People use a 'TomeRaider' app to that. You can find 'wikipedia' files for PPC on the tomeraider.com website. But as far as i know there's no 'tomeraider' for smartphone yet:/ so this is my question all about: is there any way to run wikipedia on smartphone (NOT via internet or wap, but by opening a wikipedia image file saved on your storage card)?? Thanx for reply... Regards

You'll need something like 950MB free for the full database. I think the cost was $20, but it was a while ago so can't recall. Jason.
Guest badai Posted February 23, 2007 Report Posted February 23, 2007 get MDict at http://www.octopus-studio.com/download.en.htm then get the data file here http://www.airfagev.com/wiki.htm just put the data file anywhere (in device or storage card) and MDict will find it.

Guest ggcespia Posted March 2, 2007 Report Posted March 2, 2007 We just released a new app that is the fastest way to access Wikipeda on a mobile phone - over the air. You can download it at http://boopsie.com/dl Same .cab will work on PPC and Smartphone. It also works on Palm OS, Java, Blackberry, BREW. It doesn't use form submittal. We do live multi-prefix incremental search. It's very cool. You have to have a data plan. You can try it out in a simulator here: http://live.boopsie.com/home/tryit.html Install it, then choose Wikipedia from the main menu, then start typing. To find 'Uma Thurman' just type 'um th' and you are there! Greg
