Guest Paul (MVP) Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 the:unwired is reporting that the Samsung i600 (aka BlackJack in the USA) is set to hit Vodafone in the next month. Arne writes: "Good news for Vodafone customers in Europe! It looks like Vodafone is launching the Samsung SGH-i600 (in the U.S. better known as Samsung BlackJack) in the coming month. The i600, a UMTS Windows Mobile Standard (Smartphone) device, is sporting UMTS singleband, GSM/GPRS triband, Bluetooth, WiFi b/g and a 1.3 megapixel auto focus camera on the back and a QVGA cam for UMTS voice calls on the front. As you can see below, it's just an advertisment, hanging in front of the 3GSM Word Congress, so I cannot provide more information yet but I'm sure I can do tomorrow." Arne also notes that Windows Mobile 5 is on display in the picture above... fingers crossed for an upgrade perhaps? P
Guest smeg36 Posted February 12, 2007 Report Posted February 12, 2007 The keys on this one look slightly different than the US Blackjack (particularly the white ovals around the number keys). The Blackjack also has HSDPA. The report says this is only UMTS. Lets hope that isn't the case though for all those who plan on getting this device. If I was on GSM instead of CDMA I'd be all over the BJ.
Guest MotoBaller Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 that isnt fair - I wanted to get this phone - but I got the BlackJack - o well - I think the only difference is the dual camera
