Web N Walk Abroad

Hi all,

I just got back from a week in the Alps. Have my m600 on T-Mobile with the Web N Walk package. Have Exchange and Active Sync doing automatic syncing all the time. Downloading emails every time they arrive. I spent some time surfing the net too. I checked in online using my phone as well. I thought it would all be free with Web N Walk.

It's not. I just spent £112 in one week on unbilled extras. Considering my usual bill is less than £30 a month.

Watch out if you go abroad - WnW is not free.

Cheers!

That is normal to be charged roaming rates when abroad as you are using another networks service and not the one you signed the contract with.

Roaming charges for GPRS usage are always extremely high.

At least you could still use the phone, when I was in New Zealand recently I had roaming activated but it was screwed up as I could only recieve SMS notifications and messages, it was impossible to make or recieve calls or to retrieve voicemail.

Voice calls don't come under your allowance when you're abroad so I was fairly certain data wouldn't either - nice to have it confirmed, although not so nice for you!

Only £112 for a week though? I'm suprised it wasn't more. My brother changed from W'n'W to W'n'W Pro (the orriginal ones) but they forgot to add the Pro version - first we knew was when he got a text saying they sould cut him off if he didn't contact them due to high usage - he'd clocked up over £500 in less than a month - and that was in this country! I asumed abroad would be a LOT more. Luckily T sorted it out and refunded but it is easy to rack up very large bills without W'n'W - just goes to show what good value it is!
