Cinglular 8525 Active Sync with Wireless, no data plan

I have an 8525 that I use in our corporate environment. We're using Exchange 2003, and I have set up the active sync to sync with the server for mail and calendar, and the pc for contacts etc.

The problem is, that in its infinite wisdom, my company has not allowed data plans for those people in our data center that most need it...myself included. So I bought a phone with 802.11 wireless capability to tie into our wireless overlay, which we have in all buildings.

I have no problem connecting, and can get out on the intenet fine. I cannot, however, sync.

Now I thought I read somewhere that MS removed the ability to sync via wireless unless you go through a data plan. Is there any workaround for this?

you should be able to sync w/ your exchange server fine via wifi but you won't be able to sync w/ your PC.
