HTC S620 applications close automatically!

HELP:I've got the following problem:

I have an HTCs620 mobile and have made some registry tweaks, by hand but also using SmarTweak. The problem is that I used the Tweak to save battery which switches the backlight off after 5 sec not used. In the beginning this was handy but when playing a game or using a program and I did not use the phone for a 5 secs the backlight turned off so it began to irritate me. I disabled this tweak again by using smartweak, and afterwards I uninstalled this program. Now the following problem occurred. When using a application, and 5 secs inactive it goes back to the homescreen. Seems that the backlight off trigger turned into a back to homescreen trigger! This is even more irritating. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?? Please help!

Is this not just the standard homescreen timeout setting ?

Go to Settings, Home Screen and set Time out to whatever you prefer. Most would use Never.

I tried everything, energy options and looking into the registry I was desperate and was preparing a hard reset, but this worked!!!!! Thanks a lot! :) :D :D :D
