Guest felsteaduk Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 Hi, I just got an upgrade to my t-mobile compact to the compact 3. I know there is no wi-fi, which is pants, but the gps is fine and I had an sd wi-fi card in my mda and nevere really used it anyway. So I waant to transfer my tomtom 5.21 over to this device and I ansure of which com port to use. I am trying to run some basic GPS software, just to see it with a signal, but I can not get it see the gps prort. Any help would be great.
Guest rhedgehog Posted February 15, 2007 Report Posted February 15, 2007 (edited) Other NMEA, COM 4, 9600bps in TomTom Other programs should use Com 4 There are some programs just will not talk to the GPS chip in the Artemis though. You can try looking in the GPS settings in start>Settings>system>GPS. Use the com port listed on the Software tab. Edited February 15, 2007 by rhedgehog
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Also running TomTom on a different device will require you to contact TomTom for a new activation code, sometimes this can be a pain to do with their customer support.
