IMHO HSDPA is pointless without a decent data plan.
Guest jimbouk Posted February 16, 2007 Report Posted February 16, 2007 Well I am looking forward to using my Orange WOrld Unlimited on HSDPA in London.... I am already enjoying using it on 3g at £6.50 plus VAT per month... 1gb FUP.

Guest mini_man Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Edge Edge Edge! Why wont they release edge? (im probably being stupid and that there is a reason why they havnt released it widely in the UK so please feel free to shut me up!) Most mobiles on PAYG have edge and it would make browsing much more useful. Sam
Guest jimbouk Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Orange launched EDGE a year ago - just not everywhere at once. It may not be national yet but they were the first UK network to offer it.
Guest mini_man Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Sorry yeh I knew it was available in someplaces but why not everywhere! Well if the gadgetshows petition for free wifi in major towns get put into action im sure most of us will be happy without edge! Sam

Guest Stuart_f Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 Is this a bundle or is it a promotion for new customers? It's more like a lottery!! This thread started it all off Then this one was a followup And this is the most recent one To save you a bit of reading Orange are offering 1GB for £8 inc vat but since they see it as a loss leader they will only offer it to customers who make them enough profit from their spend to make it worthwhile. The offer of OWU is usually tied to retentions to keep high spenders from jumping ship. Some people have managed to get it added on contracts as low as £35 but it depends on who you speak to at Orange, some will add it, some won't and some will deny it exists. Good luck!

Well if the gadgetshows petition for free wifi in major towns get put into action im sure most of us will be happy without edge! Sam Just keep your charger handy Sam - wifi eats your battery very quickly. I assume the Edge stuff is why my missus keeps on yelling "I've got an 'E' on my phone again" when we travel up to the Midlands? What's the data speed on Edge? I can't understand why O is dragging its feet with HSDPA when T-Mobile have it everywhere there's 3G available (to quote a Tech Support guy). ;)
Guest jimbouk Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 (edited) Well I have been upgrading my device... and yesterday updated the radio rom to 1.27.00 and then saw my first "H" whilst checking emails in Chiswick last night! Might be a coincidence... Edited March 18, 2007 by jimbouk
