Guest awarner (MVP) Posted February 17, 2007 Report Posted February 17, 2007 Ok where to start...... Since installing One Care I have had some very strange happenings on my PC and phone. Ok first of all the contents of the programs folder on my phone was completely wiped which I initially took as a phone/miniSD fault but I'm not too sure now. Now the laptop has decided one of the drives had bad sectors and hangs when trying to repair it so basically the drive now appears to screwed. What appears to have happened is that OneCare decided to do a tune-up in the background without my knowledge and while doing a defrag I had turned off the PC doing this mid defrag. I only found it was doing this defrag when on restarting media player was running like a pig with no other applications running in the background. Resource centre really helps on this one. Ok so you may think that this is just a coincidence and nothing more but since completing this tune-up at work last night, getting home I now find my wireless is now screwed and not working. Normally my wireless has a nive LED indication to show it is working, now this light refuses to come on but pressing the wireless button indicates it is being turned on/off. So now I have a screwed hard drive and broken wireless and it's all happened within days of installing One Care. All very strange.
Guest awarner (MVP) Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 Yep this wonderful application has decided to remove/deactivate a few drivers I had. I've now got the wireless working again by reinstalling the drivers but still got a screwed hdd so not happy.
