Dead Speaker

Hi! One night i was playing some songs on my SPV C600, and had the "great" idea to set the playing speed in TCPMP to 1000. It played for a few seconds and then just nothing, no sound. I figured my external speaker died, this means: no more music (only with heaphones), no more ringtones, no more alarms:(. I tried soft reset, hard reset, everything, and i am sure it`s not a software problem.

So now i want to repair it. My options are the following:

1.taking it to Orange (my warranty has expired, and i am afraid that it will cost much more than it is worthed + i would not have the phone for one weak at least);

2.taking it apart myself and replacing the speaker, but i can`t find a genuine c600 speaker. I found a place where they have spear parts but only from more known phones (nokia, samsung, motorola, sony ericsson, etc.).

If anyone knows a compatible speaker please let me know (from any phone, not only the ones mentioned above)

Any suggestions or comments or advices are welcome!

Thank you!

This is a common issue with this family of handsets, usually caused by small ammounts of dust etc that has got inside the casing. Try using the compressed air that you can use to clean PC components. Failing that I have never seen spare speakers for sale for these phones ;)
