Guest Ste Posted January 25, 2003 Report Posted January 25, 2003 I have done the following twice 1.) Unlock your phone so that you can run un-certified applications. (The method where you edit the XML files DOES WORK! [uK phones too] ) 2.) Copy the Media Player skin (Attached) to a directory either under "IPSM" or on your SD card. (For this example we will use "Storage CardMy DocumentsmediaSkin") 3.) Install "PHM Registry Editor". (This can be found at "http://www.phm.lu/Products/Smartphone/RegEdit/") 4.) Run PHM Registry Editor and goto " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / Software / Microsoft / Windows Media Player 8 / Parameters " and change the "SkinDir" value so that it reflects where you placed the skin files. ("Storage CardMy DocumentsmediaSkin" in our case) i open the "SkinDir" value and where it says windows I insert the directory but when I go to open windows media player, windows media player flashes up at the top of the screen and then thats it. Nothing opens. I have tried restarting the phone too. Is there something else I have to do or change too? Any help would be appreciated
Guest HelloDave Posted January 25, 2003 Report Posted January 25, 2003 I had this problem when I first tried changing the skin and it was because i'd entered the skin path without a final "", so WMP couldn't find it and therefore couldn't load. Make sure you enter the path without quotes and with a "" at the end of it, for example, I have IPSMMPSkin Also make sure all the skin files are in the correct folder; there should be 3 .gifs and a .skn file.
