How do I format the memory card?

Sorry to ask such a basic question! I just picked up a 2gb card for my Vario 2. The card is inserted but the phone isn't doing anything. Can't find any option to format it - am stuck in work and the manuals at home... and I can't search the forums for it for some reason. I promise, I'm normally quite technical but this is driving me loopy! PLEASE HELP!!!

Failing that use an SD card reader & format it using your PC.
