Task/Todo Application Replacement

New to PPC so need some advice.

I'm looking for an app that will replace the in-built Task/To-do application. What's annoying about the built-in one is that it doesn't seem to allow me to view all my to-do items grouped by Category. Also, I can select to 'view' by a category but when I exit the app and go back in, it just resets to showing ALL to-do entries again.

I've tried Pocket Informant which seems like a sledgehammer to crack a nut.

Anything anyone can suggest as an alternative Task/To-do manager that will sync with Outlook and allow this type of configuration? Ideally, integration with Today screen, plug in etc?

For info, as an ex-Smartphone user, I used to have PowerTasks from DeveloperOne and this seems ideal. Don't think it works on PPC though.
